Alternautas, a peer-reviewed blog, is calling for short articles for a special issue on water and (neo)extractivism in Latin America (Pdf). This special issue seeks to explore the new configurations of water conflicts and organized resistance, as well as their links to the development pathways that are being confronted in the Latin American region. Suggested axes of reflection are:
- Modalities of (neo)extractivist practices and discourses of states on water resources,
- Effects of the commodities consensus in terms of water conflicts and local resistances,
- Multi-scale water community networks and institutional responses to neo-extractivism.
The call is open to contributions from different disciplinary approaches, from sociology, anthropology, political geography, law, history, economics or political science. Contributions are expected to be of a length between 1500 and 3500 words. Please send your contributions before 31st of July, 2016, to María Mancilla García, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Emilie Dupuits, email@example.com
