Peace Brigades International and the Human Rights Consortium of the School of Advanced Study is organising a Seminar on 'Community Consultation and Megaprojects: Addressing the Gaps'.
Drawing on case studies from Guatemala, Honduras, and elsewhere in the Americas region, our speakers will identify the human rights impacts of hydroelectric dams and other large scale investment projects, and will discuss ways of promoting more meaningful and effective consultation with affected communities, and how to ensure greater compliance by states and companies to fulfil their obligations under international law.
