CfA: Funds to Support Latin American research seminars

Call for Applications

Funds to support the organization of research related seminars

The primary mandate of the Norwegian Latin America Research Network (NorLARNet) is to strengthen the Norway based Latin America research community and thereby raise the level of knowledge about Latin America in Norway.

As a means to reach this goal, NorLARNet hereby calls for applications for funds to support the organization of open seminars related to Latin America research in Norway, including research that is still in a preparatory phase. Funds are allocated twice a year, and this is the first call for applications for 2016. The maximum amount of support per seminar is 75,000 kroner, and the seminars supported should take place within 12 months from the granting of support.  The deadline for presenting applications is 21January 2016.

The funding may be used for inviting external speakers and other expenses such as equipment and room rental, refreshments, etc. The aim is to allow Norway based research communities to strengthen their networks with groups in Norway as well as abroad and to make research results, methodologies, etc. available to a broader audience in Norway. The seminars shall be open for attendance by a broader audience. Seminars may be co‐organized by several research institutions, but this is not a requirement. The NorLARNet reference group will evaluate the applications and award funding.
